We needed to sell our property in The Preserve after my husband took a job out of state. It was during the housing down-turn, and proved quite challenging — that is, to make it happen without taking a loss. So, we decided to lease our home, which dragged on for several years. Then, when the market came back to a healthier state — a truly thriving state — we called Gary again and started the process of sprucing up our property so that it would attract the sort of buyer we needed. That wasn’t easy! Gary knows what it takes to show a home at its very best, and after several tenants in our house, lots of work was needed to get sparkling again. But he didn’t mince words when working through the extensive punch list with us, and we addressed all the renovations he recommended. In the end, we received a very amenable offer, and the property sold! I’m sure he was glad to finally complete our sale, as were we to finally be freed up to completely relocate to our new state. My husband and I first met Gary Steele in 1997 when we’re purchasing our second home in Southwest Austin. He was at that time, the seller's agent on the other side of the table. During that transaction, we were continuously amazed at how much he was doing for his client. He was efficient, punctual and always true to his client's needs and specifications. His manner was calm and steadfast, coupled with a level of knowledge and honesty which were lacking in our own agent. We found ourselves constantly comparing our rather ineffective realtor to Gary. Three years ago, my wife and I discovered an abandoned and poorly maintained home in Meadow Oaks. Gary had his sign in the yard, so we called and got the story. Gary was not only quick to respond, but he also looked at our existing home in West Cave Estates to help us determine what needed to be done to make it “sale ready”, as we had no intention of moving until we saw the possibilities the Meadow Oaks home had to offer.
